UNDERSTANDING KING JAMES VI &1
400 YEARS ON
CALL FOR PAPERS
2025 marks 400 years since the death of King James VI & I of Scotland, England and Ireland.
We are a team of postgraduate researchers from various institutions who will be hosting a multi-day hybrid Conference with accompanying workshops and activities on 9-11 July 2025 in Glasgow.
We want to interrogate James' rich life and legacy, and showcase the innovative research and work that has been inspired by this!
Our team are seeking proposals for 15 minute papers (or 20 minutes for those with 2 or more speakers), or whatever form best represents your work. We welcome creativity! This can be on any aspect of James' life, reign, representation and legacy.
This call is open to those at any stage in their academic or professional career, from any field or sector, as well as independent researchers. We are especially keen to provide a platform for PGR and early career research.
Please send proposals (~250 words) along with a short bio and whether you would present in person or online via Zoom to understandingkingjames@gmail.com
We are also looking for roundtable participants! Please indicate if you would be interested.
The submission deadline is 1st October 2024.
Feel free to contact us with any questions and we look forward to hearing your ideas!
